Interesting Weekend

Caleb and I had a very interesting weekend this weekend. We were spending some time with friends, and our relationships have started to change with them. For a while, it was feeling like they just wanted to talk to each other rather than talk to us. We really want to have the same friendship with them that we had before, but we also realize that it's not possible. We are at a different stage in our life than they are, and we are starting to get used to that adjustment.
But today was good. We had good spiritual days at church, and then had a wonderful time preparing dinner for us and his mom. (His dad is out of town for work.) After our dinner, we went downstairs and relaxed and watched a movie. It's so fun to just spend time together. We really are just way excited to just be married and hang together all the time, and not have to go out all the time. It will be great on our pocketbooks! ;)

Excursion to Salt Lake

So, Caleb hadn't seen the Joseph Smith movie yet, so we decided to go and see it. We rode Trax up to Salt Lake, and walked over and got in to see the movie. After the movie, we began to wander Temple Square, and just talk. We had a good discussion about some concerns we both had, and at the end of the conversation, we were in a good place. We felt as though we both were still headed in the right direction, and we felt good about our decisions. We then walked down to The Gateway mall, and had a good time there as well. We took some pictures, and had a grand old time. It was nice because he didn't have to go into work that day, (his truck was down and needed to be worked on) and it was my day off, so we just got to spend the whole day together. That's one thing we love to do every so often. We are so excited for when we are married and just get to hang out at home every night together. Sometimes it seems so far away, but at other times it's right around the corner. We are hoping for the best in life, and still just love each other no matter what.

Hey! This is us! We decided to start a blog so that we would be better about writing things down at the end of the day. We are horrible journal keepers, so we thought something online would make it easier for Shae to manage.
So, we are currently engaged. We have been engaged since January 10, 2007. We are taking care of some things before we get married, and they are taking longer than we thought they would. We met last November, and had a very quick, but wonderful and very thought out courtship. We opted for the longer engagement in the beginning, because we didn't date that long. We felt it would be better for us that way. It gave us a chance to get to know each other better, and to be able to comfort our families since we got engaged so quickly. Looking back, we wouldn't trade that time for anything. We are closer than ever now, and have never been more sure that we are supposed to be together.
We've faced a lot of challenges along the way, but we are better for it. We hope you will continue to visit our blog and keep tabs on us!
